Brennand is a privately held enterprise with deep roots in the land and energy industries. We manage a diversified portfolio of interests spanning below the surface to above it.
Our approach is one of patient, principled stewardship of the portfolio of mineral and land assets that we manage.

Leadership
Mr. George is a shareholder, manager and member of the board of Brennand. His role involves operations of both Brennand Energy, LTD and Brennand Lazy H Ranch, LTD.
Mr. George came to Brennand after a nearly thirty-year career in commercial real estate development. As a founding partner of 3D Development he specialized in the programmatic build-to-suit development of single tenant net-leased properties for national retailers including Tractor Supply Co, 7-Eleven, Starbucks, AutoZone, Family Dollar and many more. His real estate career also includes the ground-up development, redevelopment and leasing of a portfolio of multi-tenant retail centers totaling over 1.2 million square feet with over 400 tenants.
Mr. George holds a BBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas and a MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
Mr. Watson is a shareholder, manager and board member of Brennand. In his role he oversees operations of both Brennand Energy, LTD and Brennand Lazy H Ranch, LTD.
Mr. Watson has worked in the upstream oil and gas business for the last 20 years. Prior to joining Brennand full-time, Mr. Watson worked as an acquiror and manager of non-operated working interests, mineral interests, and royalty interests through RGW Energy, LLC. From 2017–2020, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Pass Creek Resources, LLC, a privately owned E&P company with operations in the DJ basin of Colorado. From 2010 to 2017, Mr. Watson served as President, Chief Executive Officer, Secretary, and Director of EnerJex Resources, Inc. (NYSEMKT: ENRJ), an E&P company with operations in Texas, Colorado, and Kansas. In 2013, Mr. Watson was named in Oil and Gas Investor magazine’s inaugural top 20 rising E&P stars under 40 list. In 2008, Mr. Watson founded Black Sable Energy, LLC, an oil & gas prospect generator and operator focused in South Texas. Prior to entering the energy business, Mr. Watson spent six years in the private equity and investment banking businesses working for American Capital, Ltd. (NASDAQ: ACAS). He began his career in the Energy Investment Banking Group at CIBC World Markets in Houston.
Mr. Watson holds a B.B.A. with a concentration in finance from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
Ms. Barnum has worked for the Brennand companies since 2002. She is responsible for managing all office functions including land management, mineral negotiation and accounting.
